Gem Silica

Gem Silica

Chrysocolla is a copper mineral that can be cryptocrystalline or botryoidal, found in the oxidation zones of copper deposits. Since the gem silica is typically harder than chrysocolla, it cuts beautiful stones.  Gem silica is typically botryoidal (appearing to have bubbles) and harder than chrysocolla. Gem silica can occur with malachite, translucence, pockets of quartz, and an absolutely stunning color!  It can be found in Cornwall, Pennsylvania, Zaire, Arizona, and other areas. It was used by the American Indian for healing and strength.  It is believed to have a number of healing qualities from regulating the thyroid, helping with infections, strengthening the body’s resistance, self awareness, accepting situations, to stress relief.
